About Us
My name is Jess and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been licensed for four years and have worked in a variety of medical and mental health settings for over nine years. My varied experience has made me take an integrative approach to treatment, though I have become an advocate for brain-body based modalities through my own personal and professional growth. I have completed the Phase I training for Brainspotting, and have also completed trainings in EFT Tapping. Throughout my career, I have become passionate about supporting caregivers of those with Alzheimer's and other forms of Dementia. I recognize the many emotions and challenges that come with caring for those with “the long goodbye”, and I strive to provide a supportive and validating environment that fosters self-compassion. Clients have reported immense support and feeling like they aren’t alone, in addition to decreased feelings of guilt and shame.
I also provide care planning consultation services, as I know there are many tasks to arrange to ensure your loved one is taken care of. During such a difficult time, this can be daunting and confusing. Topics reviewed include important documents to have in place, paperwork needed for caregiving assistance or out of home placement, paying for care, and an overview of the out of home placement process and what that looks like depending on a client’s resources. I can also provide referrals and linkages to Sacramento and El Dorado County resources.
My other passion is supporting new clinicians on their journey to licensure. Competence and passion for life-long learning are of the utmost importance to me, therefore I stress continued professional development. I provide a supportive environment while encouraging critical thinking. I have experience providing clinical supervision to ASWs, AMFTs, APCCs, MFT Trainees, and PsyD/MSW Interns.
